Why can't the Tea Party Movement be more Libertarian, less Conservative?

Because there are far fewer libertarians than there are christian conservatives. I do feel your pain though. Although I'm a democrat, I always have the best conversations about politics and economics with libertarians. They're generally more challenging than your typical conservative and generally more civil. Its an ideology that I don't ascribe to personally but one that i have a lot of respect for. I really believe a liberal/libertarian political dynamic would be a lot more productive than the current two party dynamic.
